This state of the art facility is designed to care for the most critical patients admitted to Culpeper Regional Hospital. The project is one of a series in a multi-phased renovation of the primary care areas of the hospital. In order to facilitate this procedure while continuing to provide quality health care, a construction committee was established, consisting of a hospital executive, engineering, employee health risk management, communications, infection control, and RCCI. As part of a massive renovation to the hospital, Rector Construction Company rehabilitated the existing patient rooms and nurses’ stations in the Step Down Unit and Medical / Surgical Unit. The new unit consists of six patient rooms, including two isolation rooms equipped with full bathrooms, a central nurses’ station, access to operating rooms, a family waiting area, a consulting room, and storage areas.

This 8,000 square foot facility is two buildings designed to facilitate three specialists each with unique requirements in compatible yet highly functional buildings. One building houses an orthodontic practice and the other a partnership of a pediatric specialist and general dentist. 16-foot arched brick entrances transition patients into modern waiting areas with vaulted ceilings. There is a fully landscaped patio and courtyard between the two buildings.
